TPAWU Formation

The Tanzania Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union (TPAWU) was registered on 11/9/2000. TPAWU is registered and regulated by various laws, among them the main laws being the Trade Unions Act of 1998 and the Employment and Labor Relations Act of 2004. TPAWU is one of more than thirteen sectorial Trade Union currently registered under those laws. TPAWU is a member of the Trade Union Congress of Tanzania (TUCTA) at the National and international level and is a member of the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers Associations (IUF).
