Message from General Secretary (SG)

Tanzania Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union (TPAWU) being a registered Trade Union under the Laws of the land, we are obliged to provide services to all Plantation and Agricultural workers. It is our responsibility to ensure that members enjoys benefit of their workforce through better Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA’s) accessing Labour rights and  gender equality.

TPAWU organizes members from:-

1. Sugar Industry: Workers in the sugarcane plantations, sugar companies and factories and all activities performed by the employer of rental services in the area
2. Sisal Industry: Workers in sisal plantations and industries that manufacture sisal products.
3. Tea Industry: Workers in the tea plantations and its factories and all activities performed by the employer of rental services in the area.
4. Mixed Crops Industry: Workers employed in cashew, forestry, grain, livestock, tobacco, Pareto, cotton, coffee, mixed fields and crops and its industries.
5. Cooperatives and Boards: Workers employed in cooperatives, crop companies, agricultural commodity procurement companies, crop and industry authorities and executives in the association.
6. Horticultural Industry: Workers in the flowers, vegetables, fruits, bananas, other agricultural products and their industries.
7. Informal Sector: Workers in the informal sector.
